Austin Dillon calls out Joey Logano for revving engine on pit road near his wife, kids
Austin Dillon has an issue with what Joey Logano did after the NASCAR Cup Series race Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway on Sunday. While speaking to Kevin Harvick on Victory Lap, Dillon said he did not like Logano revving his engine near his family.
“The only thing that did piss me off about Joey was when he came through there, my wife and kid were headed across to get to cross, and he revved the engine up right in front of my kid and Johnny Morris and those people,” Dillon said. “I get it. You got to be mad and upset, but do it like an interview or talk to me about it. You got to be careful on pit road with that type of stuff.”
Logano was very angry with Dillon for wrecking him during the final lap of the race. It looked like Logano was going to earn his second victory of the year, but Dillon spun him out to claim the P1 finish and clinch a playoff spot.
“It’s chicken shit. There’s no doubt about it,” Logano said after the race. “He is four car lengths back, not even close. Then he wrecks the 11 to go along with it. Then he’s going to go up there and thank God and praise everything with his baby. It’s a bunch of BS. It’s not even freakin’ close.
“Dude, I get it, bump-n-run. I get it. I didn’t back up the corner at all. He came in there and just drove through me. It’s ridiculous that that’s the way we race. Unbelievable.”

Austin Dillon said he was ‘trying to get’ to Joey Logano
Sunday’s win was Dillon’s first victory since the 2022 season. With him being near the bottom of the standings, Dillon had to win to have a chance to win the Cup Series title. During his press conference, Dillon said he meant to hit Logano since he was doing anything he could to win.
” I mean, I was just trying to get to him,” Dillon said about Logano. “I went into turn three in fifth gear and drove in, tried to get in loose, got him up the track. I got the car downshifted, and the car actually turned pretty good when I did that. When I was coming back left, the 11 was coming. That was just kind of a reaction.
“The 22 was trying to get him loose, but the 11 was more of just a reaction. I wasn’t lifting at that point because I was more looking at where the 22 was. When the 11 came across, it was just reaction.”
