Austin Hill wins third straight Atlanta race as Xfinity Series field wrecks on last lap

How about Austin Freaking Hill? The Georgia native OWNS Atlanta Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and proved it once again. He has now won the Atlanta spring race three times in a row, and has won the last three Atlanta races in a row.
On top of that, Austin Hill has won five of the last eight Atlanta races in the Xfinity Series. Imagine that. He is tied with Kevin Harvick for series wins at the track. Hill is also tied with Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Sr. for most drafting track wins in Xfinity Series history.
So, with all that said, here is how he did it. Justin Allgaier and Aric Almirola did their best to knock him off his game. However, in the end, as the field wrecked on the backstretch, Hill raced back to the line and took another win at his home track.
Austin Hill and Atlanta are a match made in heaven. I don’t know if it is the fact that it is Georgia and his home track or the RCR machine underneath of him. Whatever it is, it works and Richard Childress knows he can count on his driver to get the job done at this track.
Speaking of RCR, they now have two wins and a pole in just two races. Austin Hill and Jesse Love are both locked into the playoffs and looking really good going into COTA. This is a track Hill almost won at a year ago as well in his battle with Shane van Gisbergen. Love is also really good on road courses.
This race had a lot of green flag laps and the fuel-saving aspect near the end was more or less ruined by late cautions. In the end, Hill made the right moves.

Austin Hill cannot be stopped at Atlanta
There isn’t much else that you can say about Austin Hill at superspeedways and Atlanta that hasn’t already been said by everyone on TV and social media. At some point, we have to reconcile the fact that he is a generational talent on these tracks in the Xfinity Series.
This was a perfect race from Hill. He swept the stages and won the race. He scored 14 more points than the second-highest points earner, Justin Allgaier. What more can I say? The only thing he didn’t win was the Xfinity Fastest Lap. That went to Christian Eckes.
A really good showing from Nick Sanchez in this race. Aric Almirola did this on three weeks notice he said. He clearly had an issue with how Allgaier didn’t move up in front of Hill late in the race. However, that’s not his decision to make.
Richard Childress Racing gets two wins to start the season. That’s huge for them. Austin Hill has to now show that he can get the job done elsewhere. He had a hard time with that in 2024. So, is Hill a real championship threat. Or will his success mostly come on the superspeedways like it did last year?
