Baker Mayfield trolls Tommy DeVito, Giants with celebration after scrambling for tough TD
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) quarterback Baker Mayfield trolled New York Giants (2-8) quarterback Tommy DeVito after rushing for a 10-yard score late in the second quarter.
Mayfield, who took flight into the end zone, popped up and immediately hit the MetLife Stadium crowd with DeVito’s signature pinched fingers and shaking wrist hand gesture. Not just once, no. Mayfield did it multiple times before heading back to the sideline.
DeVito’s return to the starting lineup has hardly been as fun as it was last season, as the 26-year-old completed just 3-of-5 passes for 31 yards in the first half. It’s been a different story for his counterpart in Mayfield, who has completed 19-of-23 passes for 230 yards to go along with the score on the ground. Tampa Bay went into the half holding a commanding 23-0 lead.
Bucs, Baker Mayfield blasting Giants in Week 12
The Buccaneers appear well on their way to snapping a four-game losing streak and getting themselves back into the NFC South race. Mayfield has been a big part of that against a Giants squad searching for answers.

New York released starting quarterback Daniel Jones on Friday after initially benching him in favor of DeVito. Jones finished his Giants career with a 24-44-1 record and 70 touchdown passes to go along with 47 interceptions.
Jones, 27, signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension in March 2023 after leading the Giants to the playoffs in 2022. He guided New York to a 9-6-1 record with a Wild Card Round win that season. But with Jones’ play falling off the last two seasons, New York made the decision to move on. Jones also had a $23 million injury guarantee for next season.
