Baltimore Ravens to sign Laquon Treadwell to one-year deal
Lamar Jackson is locked in with the Baltimore Ravens but is now looking to gather as many weapons as possible. Wide receiver has been a problem in the franchise for quite a few years, with different attempts made to give Jackson help. Baltimore is trying something new once again, signing a former first-round pick.
Laquon Treadwell will play for the Ravens next season, signing a one-year deal. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round back in 2016, being a product of the Ole Miss Rebels. Since then, Treadwell has bounced around the NFL and Baltimore will be the next stop.
The #Ravens are adding another receiver: They’ve agreed to terms with onetime #Vikings first-round pick Laquon Treadwell on a one-year deal, his agent Michael Portner said,” Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network said.
Treadwell played for four seasons in Minnesota, seeing out his rookie contract. However, whenever the Vikings decided against picking up his fifth-year option, Treadwell became of free agent. Baltimore will make a fourth different team (Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Seattle) in as many years.
In 76 career games, Treadwell has recorded 110 receptions for 1,226 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last season in Seattle brought struggles, catching just six passes for 42 yards. Treadwell’s last touchdown came during Week 17 of the 2021 season while wearing a Jaguars jersey.

There was plenty of reason for NFL teams to believe Treadwell would have been a better success coming out of Ole Miss. He had a great college career, with the peak being a 1,000-yard season as a junior in 2015. Treadwell averaged 11.8 yards per reception with the Rebels and got into the end zone 21 times.
Treadwell had a few suitors before ultimately signing with Baltimore. Both the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys had interest, even meeting with the wide receiver. However, they never fully pulled the trigger to give Treadwell a contract.
Baltimore will bring him in and add to the depth they possess at wide receiver. Wanting to be fully in on winning a Super Bowl with Jackson now locked in for the foreseeable future, a ton of different options are going to be thrown into the mix.
Treadwell is going to be one of those. After not making a significant impact on a roster last year, there will be a great opportunity ahead of him with the Ravens with a prove-it-type, one-year deal.
