Former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields has wasted no time in demonstrating that he’s the signal-caller of the future for the Chicago Bears. He’s dazzled fans with a variety of plays, both with his arm and his legs in the 2021 preseason.

Here are his final preseason stats: Justin Fields completed 30 of his 49 passing attempts for 276 passing yards, while tossing three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also rushed for 92 rushing yards on the ground.

Check out one of his touchdown strikes he threw tonight against the Tennessee Titans. Fields escapes pressure in the pocket, then rolls to his right and tosses an absolute strike right over a Titans’ defensive backs’ head in the end zone. Bears’ tight end Jesper Horsted pulls in the amazing grab.

What a throw by Fields. That’s just a small sample of the type of plays Fields has been making for the Chicago Bears the entire preseason.

The former Ohio State quarterback was pulled from the game in the second half and third string quarterback Nick Foles took over.

Andy Dalton is still the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. When will Fields take over the reigns for the Bears offense? Only Matt Nagy and his staff know.

Justin Fields’ Rushing Stats at Ohio State

Justin Fields was a dynamic runner in the open field at Ohio State as well, rushing for 867 yards and 15 touchdowns in his two seasons as a Buckeye.

He ran an unofficial 4.44 40-yard dash time at his pro day in Columbus, which puts him in rarified air for a player his size. Fields tips the scales at 6-feet-3-inches, 227-pounds; his speed in the open field is truly elite.
