Bears WR DJ Moore sums up quarterbacks in draft: 'Still don't think they compare' to Justin Fields
DJ Moore still is hoping the Bears keep Justin Fields, because in his opinion, none of the highly-coveted quarterback draft class is comparable to the Chicago starter.
Of course, Moore is Fields’ top receiver. He has a relationship with the quarterback and doesn’t want to break in a new guy. Conversely, the Bears own the top pick of April’s NFL Draft thanks to their trade last year with the Carolina Panthers. And coincidentally, Moore was part of that trade.
The NFL Combine starts this week, so the elite quarterbacks will be in Indianapolis, if only to interview with teams and go through medical testing. Caleb Williams, the former USC Trojan, is the quarterback everyone wants, except for Moore.
“I still don’t think they compare to Justin right now,” Moore said during an appearance on NFL Total Access in regards to the quarterbacks in the draft.
As Combine starts. Bears could be looking to make a deal
Now, Moore has reasons to want his quarterback to stay. Just look at his numbers. Moore enjoyed a career season, his first with the Bears. He led the team in catches, with 96 for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns.

“The relationship jelled real well from the beginning,” Moore said of Fields.” Since I got traded, he was in contact, and we started throwing together, so it made the transition into games and everything easy.”
Before Moore arrived in Chicago, he was in the hell of rotating quarterbacks with Carolina. He caught passes from Cam Newton, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield. Still, he has managed 460 receptions for 6,545 yards in six seasons.
Now the Bears are looking at the possibility of trading out of the draft choice. Chicago will be scouting Williams this week, although Williams won’t be working out for any team. No doubt, they’ll probably look at Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels, who could go at picks two and three. Of course, the Bears also could listen to trade offers for the top spot, move down and take another prospect at another position.
The Bears selected Fields, the former Ohio State star, in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has started since then.
