A wild turn of events in this NASCAR Playoffs race. The spotters’ stand has been swarmed by bees at Homestead-Miami! NBC showed a shot of the spotters with bees flying all over the place.
Luckily, it doesn’t appear anyone is being stung. But spotters are a little stressed out about calling this race while bugs are flying all around them.
You definitely don’t see this every day. Let’s hope things remain chill with the bees and the NASCAR spotters.
The race on the track has been electric. Fantastic battles for the lead. Drivers are able to build a run and have a lane to pursue it. But these spotters are not having a fun time. If there are enough bees to see them swarming on camera, that is a LOT of bees.
Again, let’s hope no one is hurt or stung. Spotters are very important to the safety on the track. Last thing we need is a spotter trying to clear a driver on the last lap of Homestead and they miscommunicate, causing a mess on the track.
Also, shoutout to the fans. There are a number of them who are also dealing with this situation. Not ideal for anyone involved.

Bees swarm at Homestead on and off the track
One of the funnier parts of the bee problem at Homestead is the fact that it caused a lot of confusion. Drivers and teams use a lot of metaphors on the radio to describe their car or the other drivers around them.
When spotters started to chime in about bees, some crew chiefs and drivers figured they were talking about the drivers they were racing. That would insinuate they were buzzing around, being unpredictable, dangerous.
Well, as it turns out, the bees were real. Homestead-Miami is a beautiful venue for a NASCAR race. However, the buzzing going on at the top of the stand is turning paradise into a nightmare for some.
The racing on the track is hot right now. This is a track that is worthy of being a championship track. Let’s hope the finale returns here in 2026.
