Ben Rhodes wins tightly contested pole award at Daytona for Truck Series race

The Craftsman Truck Series field put on a tight battle for the pole award. Ben Rhodes and the 99 team will lead the race to green tonight. This is the sixth pole of Rhodes’ career and his first since the 2018 season in NASCAR.
Ben Rhodes wants to be a three-time Truck Series champion. The Louisville, Kentucky native is set to start the year off right at Daytona. ThorSport put some fast and badass trucks on the track today.
With Rhodes beating his teammate by thousandths of a second, they will make up the front row tonight. The Fresh From Florida 250 is tonight at 7:30 PM EST.
For Ben Rhodes, he has to walk before he can run. The Truck Series champion has not won a race since 2023 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Back in 2021, on the way to his first title, he was the winner of the season-opener at Daytona. Maybe a little bit of foreshadowing for 2025?
When Ty Majeski put down his fast lap, he was more than two-tenths ahead of the competition. It was a blistering fast lap. Well, turns out ThorSport knows how to build more than one fast race truck.
Corey Heim, Grant Enfinger, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, Dawson Sutton, Kaden Honeycutt, Cley Greenfield, and Johnny Sauter round out the top-10 in qualifying. This is going to be a very fun night of racing.
Last season, the Truck Series race at Daytona was not great. It was full of caution flags early and often. Let’s hope that the field is better behaved this year and we get a quality race. To start, Ben Rhodes will have the race in his hands.

Ben Rhodes leading the field to green at Daytona
The 2024 season was not what Ben Rhodes expected it to be. No wins, a poor playoff appearance, and not much to show for it. Even so, Rhodes should feel good about his chances this season.
Ty Majeski showed that ThorSport knows what they are doing. He won the championship in Phoenix in a rather dominant performance. For Rhodes, it seems like a matter of making the most of the opportunities you get and limit mistakes as much as possible.
Christian Eckes left the Truck Series for Xfinity this year. That will open up a number of possibilities for the drivers returning this year. Then again, Corey Heim was just as if not more dominant and he returns for the 2025 season in the Truck Series.
A new season means a fresh start. Ben Rhodes is a two-time champion. He knows what it takes to hoist that big trophy at the end of the season. Could his biggest competition be his own teammate in Ty Majeski?
