Betting odds released on NCAA Tournament Santa Barbara Regional

The 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament gets underway on Friday with regional action taking place. The Santa Barbara Regional features No. 1 seed UC Santa Barbara, No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 San Diego and No. 4 Fresno State.

Santa Barbara is the favorite to come out of the regional successfully, according to DraftKings, but it’s close. Two other teams are receiving relatively favorable odds to advance.

UC Santa Barbara is the favorite in the regional after putting together a remarkably impressive 42-12 regular season record. The Gauchos went 26-4 in conference play.

Oregon was also quite competitive in the final year of Pac-12 play, going 19-11 in the conference and 37-18 overall. The Ducks are every bit capable of winning the regional if they get on a roll on the mound.

Finally, San Diego reached the regional after going 40-13 overall and 20-4 in conference play, while Fresno State went 33-27 overall and 16-14 in league action.

On3’s Jonathan Wagner broke down each regional of the NCAA Tournament, including the Santa Barbara Regional, sharing who he believes will win. Wagner has Oregon coming out on top in Santa Barbara.

Here’s what he had to say about the teams:

“The Santa Barbara Regional feels like one where any of the four teams could win. UCSB had a great year and ran through the Big West, while San Diego did the same in the WCC. There is some pretty strong pitching in this field from all four teams. Ultimately, we will predict Oregon to get past San Diego in the opener, and the Ducks are certainly capable of winning this regional if they stay in the winner’s bracket. That’s what we are predicting them to do.”
