Big 12 conference win-totals: Ranking odds released for 2025 college football season

The college football season is still a few months out. However, with the Transfer Portal largely in the rearview mirror and spring practices a thing of the past, teams are taking shape, and the Big 12 appears to be one of the most competitive conferences in the sport for the 2025 season.
Ahead of the season, the folks in the desert have shared win totals for every team in the Big 12 this upcoming season. They’ve also shared the odds that those individual teams are able to go over that projected number of wins. Of course, with a few months before the regular season actually begins, there is still time for more changes.
Here’s a look at how the Big 12 projected win totals, according to FanDuel, shake out. In it, all 16 schools sit between 5.5 wins and 8.5 wins for their projected 2025 season totals.
1. Texas Tech Red Raiders – 8.5 wins
The Texas Tech Raiders are coming off a solid eight-win season that saw them fall in the Liberty Bowl. Now, they’re looking to build on that, and it looks like Vegas expects them to have a similar season with an 8.5 win total for the 2025 season. That includes -110 odds to go over and -110 odds to go under that number.
This comes following a great offseason for the Red Raiders. Texas Tech’s transfer class is ranked first in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That’s a group they’re looking to be able to deploy with new coordinators next fall and compete to win the Big 12.
2. Kansas State Wildcats – 8.5 wins

The Kansas State Wildcats are expected to compete for the Big 12 Championship in 2025. Vegas lists them with an 8.5 win total. That’s after going 9-4, including their bowl win, last season. They’re listed at -110 to go over and -110 to under that number.
The Wildcats did well to bring back quarterback Avery Johnson, offering some continuity at the starting quarterback position. Where they won’t have continuity, however, is at offensive coordinator. Matt Wells now takes over as the third offensive coordinator in as many seasons. How they work together is going to go a long way in deciding where Kansas State finishes the season.
3. Arizona State Sun Devils – 8.5 wins
After winning the Big 12 in 2024, the Arizona State Sun Devils are one of three teams with a win total of 8.5 games going into 2025. That’s after an 11-3 season where they went to the College Football Playoff. The Sun Devils are being given +110 odds to go over and -134 odds to go under that number.
The Sun Devils are going to need to find a way to replace running back Cam Skattebo on offense. That’s no easy task. Luckily, with quarterback Sam Leavitt returning and several key offensive transfers entering the program, Arizona State should be in a position to at least maintain its offensive production.
4. BYU Cougars – 7.5 wins
BYU is going into its third Big 12 season, a year after being very competitive in it, going 11-2 and winning a bowl. Now, they’re sitting at a 7.5 game win total for 2025. That’s with -150 odds to go over and +122 odds to go under that number next season.
The challenge for BYU is going to be the turnover that the roster suffered. Twelve of the 18 players who started nine or more games last season for BYU are gone. That’s not an easy production to replace. Luckily, one of the returning players is quarterback Jake Retzlaff. So, there is a level of comfort at the most important position.
5. Utah Utes – 7.5 wins

The Utah Utes had a difficult first season in the Big 12. Now, they’re looking to bounce back from that 5-7 campaign in a year where Vegas is setting their win total at 7.5 games. That’s with -138 odds to go over and +108 odds to go under that mark.
This offseason, head coach Kyle Whittingham has been trying to rebuild the offense, which has struggled amid quarterback concerns. Now, Utah has a new offensive coordinator in Jason Beck to run the offense along with transfer quarterback Devon Dampier. If they click, the Utes could be a threat again.
6. Kansas Jayhawks – 7.5 wins
The Kansas Jayhawks are another team looking to have a bounce-back season in 2025. After going 5-7 last year, Kansas now has a win total of 7.5 games for next season. That’s with -102 odds to go over and -120 odds to go under that number.

Kansas is another team going through a change at offensive coordinator. It’s the second straight season with that move and, hopefully, returning quarterback Jalon Daniels helps new offensive coordinator Jim Zebrowski settle into the role. The Jayhawks will have to do that with a roster full of new faces around them, too.
7. Iowa State Cyclones – 7.5 wins
The Iowa State Cyclones played for the Big 12 Championship in 2024, coming up just short of winning the conference and going to the Playoff. Now, after that 11-3 season with a bowl win, Vegas is giving the Cyclones a 7.5 game win-total. That’s with +104 odds to go over and -128 odds to go under.
Quarterback Rocco Becht returns for the 2025 season, but he’ll have a new cast of weapons around him. That includes bringing in wide receivers Chase Sowell and Xavier Townsend from the Transfer Portal. Along with wide receiver, there are a few other gaps to fill, but if head coach Matt Campbell is able to do that, then he’ll have a good shot at going over the win total.
8. Baylor Bears – 7.5 wins

The Baylor Bears had a massive turnaround in 2024 after a difficult 2023. Now, they’re looking to continue building upon that in 2025. A year after going 8-5 with a bowl loss, Vegas has now set their win-total at 7.5 games. Vegas is also giving +110 odds to go over and -134 odds to go under that number.
If there’s one thing going Baylor’s way in 2025, the Bears have plenty of starters returning from last season. With some development, that continuity is going to go a long way in hitting the win total. It may only be on paper for now, but the Bears seem to be improving.
9. TCU Horned Frogs– 6.5 wins
The TCU Horned Frogs are just a few years removed from a trip to the National Championship Game. Now, they’re looking to once again be competitive in the Big 12 after going 9-4 last season. Vegas is giving TCU -120 odds to go over and -102 odds to go under.
There appeared to be offseason efforts to try and lure quarterback Josh Hoover from TCU. That didn’t end up happening, though, and the Horned Frogs returned their star quarterback. After finishing 2024 with four straight wins, including in their bowl game, the Horned Frogs have momentum now, too, that they’ll look to build on early next season.
10. Colorado Buffaloes – 6.5 wins
The Colorado Buffaloes are going to be without several of last year’s superstars who went 9-4 with a bowl loss. That turnover can make a team difficult to judge, but Vegas has them set to 6.5 wins in their win-total. That’s with +124 odds to go over and -152 odds to go under that number.
While Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are gone, Deion Sanders is still the head coach in Boulder. It’s a new task, though. He’ll have to find a new quarterback, though transfer Kaidon Salter would appear to have the inside track. There’s room for growing pains, but with Sanders’ use of the portal, the Buffaloes should be able to fill those gaps.
