Bijan Robinson fined for unnecessary roughness on run vs. Carolina Panthers
The NFL fined Falcons running back Bijan Robinson $22,511 for unnecessary roughness (use of the helmet) for this play against the Carolina Panthers. Tom Pelissero relayed the news of Robinson’s fine on Saturday afternoon, the usual time the league hands down their fine news.
Robinson had a slow start to his 2024 season but finished with impressive numbers yet again. He had 304 carries for 1,456 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He ranked in the top five in the National Football League in carries (fourth), rushing yards (third), and touchdowns (fifth). As a receiver, he hauled in 61 catches for 431 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Falcons just missed the playoffs, but there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the franchise, especially with the emergence of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. down the stretch. The Falcons will be able to pair him with Robinson and receiver Drake London, forming one of the more unstoppable offensive trios in the National Football league. The future for their offensive attack in 2025 and beyond is remarkably bright.
In 2023, Robinson racked up over 1,300 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns, showcasing his ability as one of the best all-purpose backs in the league. He finished with 214 carries for 976 rushing yards and four touchdowns. As a receiver, he hauled in 58 catches for 487 yards and four touchdowns.
