In leaving the National Football League to join the college football coaching ranks, Bill Belichick has wasted little time in welcoming a number of stars to see his North Carolina Tar Heels practice. He’s welcomed Lawrence Taylor to the sidelines in Chapel Hill, Drake Maye, and plenty other former UNC greats.

On Saturday, he decided to bring in one of the bigger college football fans in the rap game, Lil’ Wayne, to a spring practice for the Tar Heels. He even gave him a UNC jersey.

North Carolina coach Bill Belichick caught a stray from comedian Michael Che during the running “Weekend Update” segment on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live. Che’s joke took aim at the relationship between Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. More specifically it made light of the age gap between the couple, with Belichick being nearly 50 years the senior to the 24-year-old Hudson.

“Last week, the U.S. appeals court blocked a Biden-era student debt relief plan, which means the only way for young people to pay off their student loans is by dating Bill Belichick,” Che said as a photo of the couple appeared on screen.

Belichick, who won six Super Bowls as the head coach of the New England Patriots from 2000-23, has been dating Hudson for more than two years according to People Magazine. It is also mentioned that the pair first met in 2021 when Hudson was a college cheerleader.

Belichick mutually agreed to part ways with the Patriots following the 2023 season and spent this past year off. However, he recently accepted the Tar Heels head football coach job this offseason and will take over a team that went 6-7 this past season.

Jokes about the age gap between Bill Belichick and his girlfriend are nothing new, but we’ve perhaps not seen it on such big a stage as this. Regardless, the coach is certainly used to it by this point in his career and likely won’t pay much attention to it.
