Binjimen Victor is taking advantage of every opportunity in the NFL after signing a futures contract with the Baltimore Ravens last January.

Victor led the Ravens in receiving at halftime of the Ravens’ preseason game at Washington on Saturday night with three receptions for 61 yards, including this gorgeous 30-yard touchdown grab.

Victor’s unusual NFL journey

Victor wasn’t at the top of the Ohio State depth chart and didn’t hear his name during the 2020 NFL Draft.

Victor showed enough on film to land a spot on the New York Giants’ practice squad last year, and clearly, the Ravens liked what they saw.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta reportedly loved what he saw from Victor, particularly as a red zone threat.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 199 pounds, Victor fits a familiar theme among Baltimore’s wide receivers. He’s got a big frame and can make defenders miss when he has the ball in his hands, though his 4.6-second 40-yard-dash time at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine left a bit to be desired and likely facilitated him going undrafted.

In 12 games during his final year at Ohio State, Victor caught 35 passes for 573 yards and six touchdowns. Throughout his college career, Victor didn’t get a ton of playing time but made the most of it, finding the end zone 18 times over 33 games.

Can Binjimen Victor land on the 53-man roster?

One of the biggest knocks on the Ravens always comes down to the wide receiver room.

As it stands, the depth chart looks crowded, but Victor’s breakout performance in the final preseason game of the year is going to give John Harbaugh and the Ravens’ coaching staff some tough decisions.

According to Pro Football Network, Victor was slated at the very bottom of the depth chart before Saturday night’s contest.

Here is the full depth chart, though it is unofficial until the 53-man roster is decided: Marquise Brown, Sammy Watkins, Rashod Bateman, Miles Boykin, Tylan Wallace, Devin Duvernay, James Proche, Jaylon Moore, Deon Cain and Binjimen Victor.

It’s important to note that Victor hauled in two more tough catches in the second half of Saturday’s preseason tilt, but left the game at the end of the third quarter after taking a hard blow to the helmet. The former Buckeye may not get another chance to showcase his skillset as he was last being evaluated for a concussion.

Still, it will be tough for the Ravens staff to overlook Victor’s production when given the chance.
