Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis had his home burglarized over the weekend and is asking the community for help. Portis revealed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday afternoon that the theft occurred while he was playing in a game Saturday against the Cavaliers

Portis did not say exactly what was stolen from him. However, he asked fans to reach out to him if they know anything about the burglary and offered a reward for the recovery of anything.

“While I was at my game yesterday, I had a home invasion and they took most of my prized possessions,” Portis said in a video. “If you have any info regarding this, please send the info to [email protected]. Any info that leads to the return of my belongings will be rewarded handsomely.”

Portis also provided a video in the post that showed the robbery taking place. Two figures wearing masks are shown trying to enter the house through the back door as one appears to be talking on the phone with a third party. Outside of that, however, there don’t appear to be any clues as to who is responsible.

Portis is in his fifth season with the Bucks, having helped them to win an NBA Championship in 2021. He is signed with the team through the 2025-26 season, during which he has a player option.

The forward explained how much the city has come to mean to him in the time he has spent here before asking fans for help.

“The love you guys give me here isn’t something that I ever felt before in my NBA career, and I’ve been in the league for 10 years,” Portis said. …I’ve always felt like I’ve had to give it right back to you guys. I’ve tried to uplift the community and make Milwaukee a better place.”

Portis has been a spark off the bench for Milwaukee over the past few seasons and finished third in the Sixth Man of the Year voting this past season. So far in 2024-25, he is averaging 11.0 points and 7.7 rebounds across 24.2 minutes per game.

The Bucks are off to a slow start as they are just 1-5 through the first six games, but will look to turn things around when they play the Cavaliers again on Monday.
