The winningest driver of all time at Bowman Gray Stadium is going to go head-to-head with the best NASCAR has to offer. Tim Brown, a mechanic for Rick Ware and RFK Racing will drive the No. 15 RWR car at the Clash.

Tim Brown, 53, is a drivetrain and suspension specialist for Rick Ware Racing, via RFK. The two teams have an alliance. So, he will work on and help build the same car that he will drive on February 2.

With 101 wins at the track, more than any other driver, and 12 Bowman Gray track championships, Brown is ready. He knows the track, he will know the car inside and out. Is this going to be the story of the NASCAR Clash?

So, is this going to be a breakout for Brown? Can he make his way through to the finale on Sunday? It’s going to be a lot of fun watching him race against the best in the Cup Series.

Rick Ware Racing has a lot of team sponsors. Many of their partnerships span multiple series that RWR competes in. From NASCAR to NHRA to flat track motorcycles and more. So, they will likely have one of those sponsors like Parts Plus on the car.

There are many great racers out there that don’t get the opportunities they need. A lot of talent gets overlooked just by the nature of the sport. Money and funding is so vital.

For a guy like Tim Brown to get this opportunity is awesome. It also speaks to the dedication that he has had to work in NASCAR in one way or another. Finally, one of the little guys is stepping up to the big leagues. You could almost write a movie about it.

Can Tim Brown actually be competitive in NASCAR Clash?

Since the Next Gen car was introduced, we have seen many drivers from many different series come to NASCAR to compete. F1, WEC, IMSA, Supercars – but what about a modified driver? And one who knows the Bowman Gray track intimately? Perhaps Brown will be a darkhorse contender in the NASCAR Clash.

Being able to be competitive will be a tall task. He will be in a Rick Ware Racing car. Although there was a notable difference in the speed for this organization last season. The alliance with RFK has proven to be fruitful.

This could mean we won’t see Corey LaJoie in the NASCAR Clash. His most likely destination, if he races in the Cup Series for 2025, will be at RWR. Maybe he will land in the 51 somehow?

Tim Brown is going to be fun to watch. He will know how to race the track. Whether or not he can get the car to do what he wants it to do is another question. Imagine what a top-10 or top-5 finish would mean to Brown and the Bowman Gray racing community. Let alone a win.
