NASCAR Sunday at Pocono Raceway did not favor RFK Racing. Brad Keselowski was disappointed with how things played out. Chris Buescher and Keselowski were out front at one point or another during the 400-mile race.

Unfortunately, both Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher were in the front at the worst times. Yellow flags came out at the wrong time, ruining the strategies they were on and changing the layout of the race.

While Keselowski managed a P7 finish, Buescher had to settle for P11.

“[Two] gut punches,” Keselowski wrote on X. “Yellows came out both times RFK cars were leading and crushed our strategy yesterday. Happy we had fast cars. Bummed it didn’t go our way.”

A multitude of cautions in the final stage more or less evened everyone out when it came to strategy. Brad Keselowski did have a huge lead when he was able to get out to the front of the field. Almost every car that took the lead was able to use the clean air advantage to put distance between themselves and the pack.

Chris Buescher has been on a really solid run lately. In the last seven races, his worst finish is P20 at Chicago. He hasn’t finished outside of the top-20 in that time and has three top-5 finishes as well over that same span of races.

This is the time of the season when Buescher exploded last year for three wins in five weeks, including back-to-back wins at Richmond and Michigan. Is a similar performance coming up as the regular season comes to an end?

Brad Keselowski in the playoffs, Buescher in on points

With his big win at Darlington, Brad Keselowski is in the NASCAR Playoffs. He has had a relatively successful season. His P7 at Pocono was a nice result after a few weeks of slow races and rough results.

However, Chris Buescher is not so safe. He is in on points, for now. That might not hold up as he is just 44 points above the cutline. The good news is he has Ross Chastain between himself and the cutline, so it gives him a cushion.

With races at Indy, Michigan, and Daytona coming up, a lot can happen. That doesn’t even take into consideration Darlington, which is capable of ending playoff runs before they begin.

Brad Keselowski knows his team has speed. They are going to have to work on dialing it in on a weekly basis moving forward as they get closer to the NASCAR Playoffs.
