There has been a lot of talk about how to change the NASCAR Playoffs and championship. Brad Keselowski has now offered his thoughts. The driver-owner at RFK Racing picked two interesting tracks he would like to see the season finale go.

RFK Racing has not made a deep run in the playoffs in the Next Gen era. But Brad Keselowski can still have an opinion. As a former champion, his opinions should be taken pretty seriously.

On X/Twitter, Keselowski chimed in on the championship venue question. Responding to Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal and comments from Steve O’Donnell, NASCAR COO, Keselowski offered up two tracks.

“Been thinking about this one for awhile. I really like both [Darlington] or [Charlotte] as a season finale. What do you all think? I’d do a poll but not sure [how] to anymore…”

Darlington and Charlotte. While Charlotte makes a lot of sense, Darlington would be incredibly tricky from a scheduling standpoint.

When it comes to the Track Too Tough to Tame, it has two dates. One spring date, one late summer date for Labor Day Weekend. That second date is sacred as far as NASCAR is concerned and it will not change barring another global pandemic.

So, do you move the spring date to November? I think that would be a tough sell, but not impossible. As for Charlotte, that one is easy. Scrap the Roval and change it back to the oval for the championship. Problem solved.

Brad Keselowski picks solid tracks for NASCAR championship

Both Darlington and Charlotte are good selections for the championship. Each one allows the best driver and best car to rise to the top, outside of any issues on track or pit road. Intermediate tracks also happen to be the best thing in NASCAR racing right now.

Given the schedule, I don’t think that we are going to see Darlington as the finale. Charlotte is possible. Phoenix and Homestead-Miami have already hosted the championship in the elimination era.

A four to five track rotation would be ideal. The NFL, NCAA basketball, and other leagues rotate championship venues and it’s good for those sports. I think it’s good for NASCAR as well.

Las Vegas, Phoenix, Charlotte, Homestead, and the future Fontana short track could all be viable options. Brad Keselowski is ready to see it go to at least one of those venues in the future. What other tracks do you think could host the championship?
