Brandin Cooks injury update: Dallas Cowboys activate WR ahead of Thanksgiving game vs. Giants

The Dallas Cowboys activated WR Brandin Cooks from injured reserve, according to the franchise’s public relations account on Twitter. Also, the Cowboys made the following moves before their Thanksgiving Day game against the New York Giants: placing Caelen Carson on injured reserve and Asim Richards on injured reserve. They also signed tight end Princeton Fant to the active roster from the practice squad.
In the Cowboys-Giants matchup earlier this year, Dallas prevailed 20-15, after quarterback Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes. The Cowboys defeated the Commanders in their last game, 34-26. Dallas backup quarterback Cooper Rush stepped up bigtime, completing 24 of 32 passes for 247 passing yards, while tossing in two touchdowns with no interceptions. CeeDee Lamb also had 10 catches for 67 yards.
The former Oregon State star came into the NFL after going in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The New Orleans Saints snagged the California native with the 20th overall selection. Ever since, he’s been a reliable, exciting wide receiver but he hasn’t had a long-term home in the league.
