The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega just got very interesting as Brandon Jones was turned going into Turn 1 of the Ag-Pro 300. The big one can happen anytime and anywhere when you’re at Talladega.
Ryan Sieg and Parker Kligerman both made a run for the same spot in the middle lane and touched. Brandon Jones was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jones was sent into the wall and the rest of the field wrecked trying to avoid him.
Had Austin Hill and Sammy Smith not made moves to get out front of the field, they could have been part of this incident.
About ten different cars were involved in this wreck. For Parker Kligerman and Ryan Sieg, things couldn’t have gone better. They both avoided ending their day early in the moment. Kligerman did lose track position, but it could have been a lot worse.
JR Motorsports took a good amount of damage here. Jones wrecked and Sam Mayer wrecked out. As far as the Dash 4 Cash is concerned, Sieg benefits the most. He does not have anyone else in that hunt for $100K around him now and also has a chance to go out and win the race itself.
The Ag-Pro 300 might have just had the big one. Then again, it’s Talladega. We might be in store for another one or two hits.

Ag-Pro 300 has been all RCR
To give a quick recap of the afternoon, this Xfinity Series race has been producing some fun racing. In fact, this series almost always delivers an exciting race. But superspeedways are different. These tracks are the domain of Richard Childress Racing.
While the Cup Series program is getting back to where it should be, the Xfinity program has been fantastic. Austin Hill and Jesse Love are two of the best qualifiers in the series and two of the best drafting racers.
Love put a move on Hill late in Stage 1 to take the win in that segment. Then Hill came back and showed his rookie teammate that he knew a lot more than him. Hill did it, too. Winning Stage 2 and letting the field know he might be ready for another superspeedway victory.
There were a lot of cars crunched up in that Brandon Jones wreck. Fast cars, too. However, that is just how this racing goes. At the last second, when you least expect it, that’s when Talladega chaos breaks out.
