The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona made it about five laps before a wreck happened. Brandon Jones checked up to avoid hitting his teammate, which gave way to the madness. A couple of bad pushes, a car or two checked up, and then Jones was being turned up into Daniel Dye and the outside wall.

Brandon Jones didn’t start this wreck, but his car ended up being the thing that wrecked a lot of others. Brennan Poole was involved in this wreck. Harrison Burton and Connor Zilisch had minor damage. This is going to change the rest of the race.

Carson Kvapil took a good amount of damage in this wreck as well. A few rookies were caught up in the mess before it was all said and done.

Unfortunately, the wreck happened during a commercial break. Good news for fans watching The CW at home, it was side-by-side. We didn’t hear much going on for a few minutes but at least we saw it.

This Xfinity Series broadcast has been great so far on The CW. Every single race of the Xfinity Series season will be aired on the over-the-air channel. It is going to open up this series and the sport to new, younger audiences.

Adam Alexander, Jamie McMurray, and Parker Kligerman have proven to be a great trio in the booth. There is a lot of energy and knowledge from this group.

It is still early in the race but we have had a few issues so far. Jones wrecked. Brennan Poole later caused a caution when his hood popped back up and flew onto the track. There have been a few moments of solid racing, though.

Xfinity Series at Daytona just getting started

As the race continues, there are more opportunities for chaos. Daytona is going to Daytona and these drivers won’t be able to keep their noses clean the entire night. One place to keep an eye on is coming out of Turn 4. Truck and ARCA drivers had big issues with that area.

A lot of times, these Xfinity Series races at Daytona calm down after the first big wreck. That won’t stop another one from happening, though. Eventually, whether it is the end of a stage or the end of the race, push is going to come to shove and that will lead to a wreck or two.

The Xfinity Series puts on a great show each week. The CW appears ready to put on a great production for prerace and during the race. There will be a few things that they have to work out for being a new media partner. So far, it’s been a lot of fun.
