Brandon McManus' attorney calls allegations from sexual assault lawsuit, 'absolutely fictitious'
Brandon McManus is facing allegations of sexual assault, and his attorney is taking action. In a statement to ESPN, Brett R. Gallaway said the former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker did not assault two women during a flight to London last year.
“These are absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false allegations made as part of a campaign to defame and disparage a talented and well-respected NFL player,” Gallaway, said in the statement on Monday night. “We intend to aggressively defend Brandon’s rights and integrity and clear his name by showing what these claims truly are — an extortion attempt.”
McManus is accused of rubbing himself against the two women as and grinding against them. The Jaguars were traveling to London for an International Series game, and the two women were working as flight attendants. The two women say the flight “quickly turned into a party” as McManus and several other players disregarded the women’s personal space and air travel safety.
Brandon McManus allegedly assaulted two women on an airplane
The first woman, identified as Jane Doe I, accuses McManus of trying to kiss her where she was seated during a session of turbulence and grinding up against her while she was serving the flight’s two meal services, according to the lawsuit. The second woman, identified as Jane Doe II, alleges that McManus was grinding against her while she was serving the flight’s second meal. She remained on the plane’s second story to avoid McManus.

Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the two women, went to Instagram to release a statement. “Our efforts at resolution were met with arrogance, ignorance and stupidity, strikingly similar to how Deshaun Watson’s team responded when we tried to resolve those cases pre-filing. The allegations made in this lawsuit are very serious. We made sure to fully vet them and speak to witnesses before even taking the cases. We will pursue this case with the same tenacity we are known for,” the statement says.
The Jaguars released a statement once they learned the news. “We’re aware of the complaint, and we acknowledge the significance of the claims,” the team said. “As we continue to look into the matter, it bears emphasizing that we insist on an organization built by people who represent our community and game with the highest character and class.”
McManus signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars in May of last year after spending nine seasons with the Denver Broncos. He signed a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders in March.
