A talented driver with a great name as well, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen is making his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut this season. He will join Tricon Garage in the No. 1 Toyota at North Wilkesboro.

Another Late Model driver gets a big opportunity. Off the heels of the Bubba Pollard to JR Motorsports news, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen gets his shot. Folks, if you like old-school drivers who cut their teeth the way drivers did for decades, Queen is your guy.

He has the name, the talent, the attitude, and the mullet that will make you fall in love with him. Last year, he won the CARS Tour race at North Wilkesboro. Then he promptly took the trophy to the nearest Waffle House to celebrate.

Mark the Wright Band 250 on your calendar, it will be worth watching.

You aren’t going to see many in NASCAR or motorsports that are upset about his news. Drivers in the Late Model world possess a ton of skill. However, in NASCAR and motorsports in general, it’s all about funding and sponsorship.

For many who don’t already have connections, that can be a difficult barrier to clear. Well, lately, thanks to the CARS Tour, people like Dale Jr., and a general rise in interest towards grassroots racing we are seeing worthy drivers get a shot in the national series ranks.

However, Queen will be sponsored by Best Repair Company, a longtime partner of his. A great deal for both him and the sponsor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

So, what can you expect from Brenden “Butterbean” Queen? Well, to put it simply, a short-track racer through and through. At 26 years old, Queen is still young, but he has experience. When he was just 18 years old in 2016, he won the East Carolina Motor Speedway Late Model championship.

More recently, he has been racing in the CARS Tour and battling for a championship. He came up just a few points short in 2023. However, Carson Kvapil would beat him in the season-ending points standings.

Queen did finish the season with four CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car wins. That included his victory at North Wilkesboro last summer. In his CARS Tour career, he has five total wins in Late Model Stock.

Tricon Garage has a great organization with great equipment. Now, they add one of the most fun drivers to their program for at least a one-off opportunity. Brenden “Butterbean” Queen will try and turn his one start into more to come in the future.
