Brent Crews fires back at Butterbean Queen, calls out fans with 'hurt feelings' after Phoenix ARCA win

After moving Butterbean Queen on the last corner of the last lap to win at Phoenix, Brent Crews has no regrets about the win. In fact, the 16-year-old brought up a CARS Tour race from last year that involved the two ARCA Menards Series drivers.

Butterbean Queen led the most laps tonight in the longest ARCA race ever at Phoenix Raceway. This 150-lap race turned into 163 laps quickly.

A little door bump on the final turn coming to the line was all it took. Brent Crews secured his win, but at what cost? There were a few fans not too happy about the finish and even some drivers and others in the NASCAR industry online who questioned the move.

Still, Crews was defiant. He knows what comes around goes around and apparently he’s been keeping this in his back pocket since last season in the CARS Tour.

“There was some hurt feelings for Brenden Butterbean Queen and I know he wasn’t pretty happy about the ending move, how do you guys race each other moving forward, maybe expecting something in return?” MRN Radio asked Crews, via Brett Winningham of Speedway Digest. He replied.

“Yeah, everybody that’s upset about it you can go watch the CARS Tour replay at Langley when I got cost [sic] the win after leading 110 out of 125 laps,” Crews said. “So, yeah, I knew he would’ve done the same thing.”

This is not the only time Brent Crews will have to race Butterbean Queen this season. Will we see more intense moments between the two drivers this year? Only time will tell.

Good news for Crews, Butterbean will have time to cool off. The next ARCA race is at Talladega, Crews is too young to race that track. So, it will be about two months until these two go toe-to-toe again.

Brent Crews wins ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix

It felt like Brenden “Butterbean” Queen was going to walk away with his second straight ARCA win, but Brent Crews stole it in overtime. A 2OT finish saw Crews and Queen go side-by-side at Phoenix to the line.

No practice, no qualifying thanks to rain coming to Phoenix. Imagine that. These stock cars can attract moisture in any climate you can imagine. It’d rain in Hell if you invited the Cup Series for the weekend.

Brent Crews started on the pole. However, the 16 year old didn’t lead the most laps. That went to Queen. However, Crews stayed in it until the end and with an overtime restart to decide it all, the two CARS Tour alumni put on a show.

163 laps in the race tonight, that is the longest ARCA Menards Series race ever at Phoenix. That overtime restart is exactly what you want to see. Crews moved Queen coming out of Turn 4 a bit, and made his sprint to the line for the win.
