Brenton Strange snags first career touchdown for Jaguars vs Colts
The Jacksonville Jaguars entered their Week 6 matchup with momentum after winning two weeks in a row on the road in London. Leading the Colts 24-7 late in the third quarter, quarterback Trevor Lawrence found rookie tight end Brenton Strange for the former Penn State star’s first career touchdown.
The Indianapolis defense left Strange unguarded as he broke off of the offensive line and ran to the front right of the endzone for an easy snag and score. He had just two catches for seven yards entering the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Jaguars’ divisional rivals.
On top of the touchdown catch, the young tight end also had another reception versus the Colts for 17 yards.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Strange with the No. 61 overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Strange redshirted his first year at Penn State in 2019. During his redshirt freshman season during the 2020 COVID season, Strange caught 17 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns while starting five of the nine games the Nittany Lions played that year.
As a junior, he started every game for the team, making 20 grabs for 225 yards and three touchdowns.

Jaguars facing Colts without Anthony Richardson
The Indianapolis Colts are facing multiple weeks without rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The former Florida Gator is strongly considering undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery on his damaged AC joint.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, a season-ending procedure is deemed by “some” to be the best course of action to fully heal his right throwing shoulder. Richardson recently underwent an MRI, which revealed the labrum in his right shoulder is not torn. The ligaments look “better than expected.”
Richardson, the 2023 fourth overall pick out of Florida, suffered the AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder in the 23-16 Week 5 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Colts placed him on injured reserve Wednesday, knocking him out for at least four games.
In four games this season, Richardson threw for 577 yards with three touchdowns and one interception on 59.5% passing. He added 136 yards and four scores on the ground. Richardson missed the Week 3 contest against the Baltimore Ravens with a concussion.
