Exciting news for baseball and NASCAR fans. Major League Baseball is hosting a game at Bristol Motor Speedway. It’s Bristol (baseball) baby! The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds will go head-to-head on August 2, 2025.

A venue like Bristol, the Last Great Colosseum, is perfect for this. We already know the action that NASCAR brings to the track every season. Bristol Motor Speedway has hosted a college football game in the past, Bristol Dirt was a sight to see.

Now, Bristol will be home to MLB. This could be the largest crowd ever for a Major League Baseball game.

β€œMajor League Baseball is excited to deliver a special game at Bristol Motor Speedway, a unique setting that sports fans will remember forever,” MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. β€œThe Reds and the Braves form an ideal matchup because of their dynamic talent and the proximity of their markets.

β€œWe look forward to celebrating our game with a wide array of fans, both on and off the field throughout the weekend, and highlighting the rich traditions of sports, music and community in Tennessee and across the region.”

When you think about cool and unique venues, Bristol has to be at the top of the list. It isn’t in the same vein as the Field of Dreams game. However, the atmosphere, crowd, and sights that you will get from this baseball game will be unmatched.

Not to mention, this is a good way to cross-promote NASCAR.

Right now it is unclear how many seats will be available for the game. However, with the capacity that Bristol Motor Speedway has, it will be one of the most attended games of all time.

Bristol Motor Speedway is a destination for other sports

I think it is interesting that while NASCAR attempts to reach new markets, race at the LA Coliseum, wanting to go to other stadiums and attempt to recreate it – now others are coming to NASCAR venues.

But a venue like Bristol is special. It is truly the Last Great Colosseum. This is why other sports, college football, Major League Baseball, Supercross and their Supermotocross championship would love to go to Bristol.

Good on whoever got this deal put together. Both sides, MLB and NASCAR, are coming together to put on an event that fans are going to want to kill for. Putting a baseball game in this arena will be one of the coolest sporting visuals we get all year in 2025.

While MLB is making plans to take over the infield at Bristol Motor Speedway, she has one more date with NASCAR this season. Bristol will be challenging once again, especially if tires wear out like they did in the Spring.

Are you going to get a ticket to the Speedway Classic? Is this something that interests you? I’m sure those seats behind home plate will be hard to come by.
