Bristol, baby! It was just a couple of short years ago when we saw Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick go at it on pit road. It was a little bit of a return for Happy Harvick as he went straight up to Elliott and got in his face following some more than rough racing on the NASCAR track.

With so much on the line in the NASCAR Playoffs and elimination always on the board at Bristol, emotions run high. Kevin Harvick was leading the 2021 edition of the Bristol Bass Pro Shops Night Race. Then he got into it with the 9.

Elliott felt that Harvick cut his left front tire down on purpose. So, he started to give the 2014 champion some flack as he was being lapped later in the race. Soon enough, Elliott was blocking Harvick with everything he could think of. That’s when Kyle Larson started to creep up.

When it was all said and done, Larson won this race with Kevin Harvick wondering how soon he could get to Elliott. We got a truly classic altercation on pit road.

Let’s hope we see fireworks on the track this Saturday night at Bristol. Someone is going to get their feelings hurt. When that happens, we might get another moment like Chase Elliott’s confrontation.

What we know is going to happen, great racing. This track is run on the intermediate package, the Cup Series best set of tracks, and that PJ1 has been applied on the bottom groove. We are so ready to go racing at Bristol!

Chase Elliott still looking for first win of 2023

In four of his last five races, Chase Elliott has finished no worse than P8. Two top-10s, and two more top-5 finishes in that time have him on the right track. However, he still has not produced a victory in the 2023 season.

While Chase doesn’t have a chance at the Bill France Cup, he could still manage a big postseason performance. If Elliott is able to continue to run well, he might just win the owners championship for Hendrick Motorsports before it is all said and done.

With a single win at Bristol in his career, Elliott will have to have one of his better races at the track. He was P2 in this race a year ago and has 10-1 odds to win this week. However, this track can be very up and down for Elliott. He’s either in the top-5 or falling into the middle of the pack.

Chase Elliott needs to go out and run his race. There is so little pressure at this point in his season, he can just go out and drive. Will that help him produce his first win of the 2023 season this Saturday night?
