Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany had some choice words for the officials during the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills.

After a Kadarius Toney penalty during a would-be touchdown wiped out the go-ahead score, the Chiefs ended up turning it over on downs. That led to an intense sideline outburst from the Kansas City quarterback.

Well, his wife pointed the blame somewhere and it was to the zebras of the human variety.

It’s easy to blame the officials in the heat of the moment. However, Toney clearly lined up in the neutral zone, which wiped out the trick-play touchdown.

The play in question was a completion to Travis Kelce, who then lateralled to Toney who finished off the play with a score. But due to the penalty, it was called back, much to the dismay of the crowd.

Patrick Mahomes gets heated amid loss to Bills

Mahomes slammed his helmet on the sideline after he threw an incomplete pass on fourth down to end the game. He was hit as he threw and the ball fluttered to the turf.

With the loss, the Chiefs fell to 8-5 on the season while the Bills improved to 7-6.

Mahomes finished the game 25-of-43 passing for 271 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Kelce was the leading receiver with six catches for 83 yards while Rashee Rice added seven catches for 72 yards.

However, there wasn’t much help after that. Toney had three catches for 25 yards and Marquez Valdes-Scantling had two catches for 22 yards.

The run game was virtually nonexistent for Kansas City. Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the way with 11 carries for 39 yards, although Jerrick McKinnon did score a touchdown.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will see this loss burn a bit, since the AFC West lead was cut down to one game. The Denver Broncos beat the Los Angeles Chargers 24-7 to improve to 7-6.

The defending Super Bowl champions are up against it a bit. If Mahomes is to take over Tom Brady’s GOAT status, he’ll have to rebound from this latest stretch.

“I think, when I’m looking at guys in pro football, quarterbacks, you know, Patrick is the one that really stands out,” Tom Brady told Shaq. “They’ve done a great job since he’s really taken over and he’s got a really great coach — like I was fortunate [to have] and you were fortunate [to have] — that helps you and is there for you when things are going good, and not good.

“Gives you the humble pie when things are going good and knows how to pick you up when things aren’t good, but it’s going to be interesting.”
