Brock Bowers ponders prospect of being drafted by Jim Harbaugh, Los Angeles Chargers
Brock Bowers would make quite the weapon for Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 as a rookie.
The former Georgia tight end was an otherworldly prospect at his position for three years and a handful of mock drafts have him going out west. The California native knows there’s buzz about it but he doesn’t pay attention too much.
Heck, it might be a surprise if the former Bulldog doesn’t go within the first 10 picks in April.
“Yeah, I mean I’ve seen them,” Bowers said on SportsCenter. “I’ve seen them here and there … but I try not to pay attention because that doesn’t really mean much. Just gotta stay focused and keep at it.”
SportsCenter host Matt Barrie asked the prospect of going to the Los Angeles CHargers under coach Jim Harbaugh. Of course, Bowers and Georgia beat Michigan in the College Football Playoff two years ago when Harbaugh was still at the college level.
As far as a little trash talk should the two team up in the pros, Bowers erred on the side of caution.,

“I might leave that out,” Bowers said with a laugh.
But, it’d be a homecoming of sorts for Bowers. He ended up at Georgia during his recruiting process amid the pandemic a few years ago.
With tons being shutdown across the state, Bowers simply wanted to play football.
It was kind of a weird recruiting process just because it was all during COVID and everything kind of shut down in California and on the west coast,: Bowers said. “So just, I kind of knew I kind of wanted to be somewhere where I knew it wouldn’t shut down for football season and wanted to play with the best and win some games.”
In 10 games this season, Bowers finished this final year with 56 catches, 714 receiving yards, six touchdowns, 12.8 yards per catch and ran six times for 28 yards and a touchdown. In his career, Bowers had 175 catches, 2,538 yards, 26 touchdowns, 14.5 yards per catch, 19 carries, 193 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
As a member of the Class of 2021, Bowers was a four-star recruit out of Napa (Calif.) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 1 tight end in the class and the No. 66 overall prospect in the class.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25th to 27th in Detroit (Mich.).
