Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa injury updates: 49ers make surprising decision on stars vs. Packers
The San Francisco 49ers have battled a number of extensive injuries during the 2024-2025 NFL season. And they got more bad news on Friday night, as they learned that both Nick Bosa and Brock Purdy will not suit up on Sunday, according to the NFL’s Twitter account. This season, Purdy has completed 66.0% of his passes for 2,613 passing yards, while tossing in 13 touchdowns with eight interceptions. Bosa has tallied 36 total tackles with seven sacks.
It’s two major losses for the 49ers, one on each side of the football. The franchise has dealt with a number of injuries throughout the 2024-2025 season, and they currently sit at 5-5 overall. Instead of Brock Purdy, the franchise will have to start Brandon Allen at quarterback.
Allen has bounced around at a number of different franchises across the league, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the LA Rams, the Denver Broncos, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the San Francisco 49ers (2023-present). For his career in the NFL, he’s completed 56.7% of his passes for 1,611 passing yards, while tossing in 10 touchdowns with six interceptions. His passer rating is currently 78.0.
