Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers will open the 2024-25 season Tuesday night when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Needless to say, expectations aren’t high for the rookie. FanDuel has released betting props for Bronny James, which include him being favored to score less than 1.5 points.

Bronny James, who is of course the son of LeBron James, was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 55 overall pick.
Bronny turned pro after averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game at USC last season.
He is without a doubt a raw prospect, but he also is athletic and grew up learning from one of the best players in NBA history. It will be interesting to see how he performs in his debut and throughout the 2024-25 season.
Prior to this year’s NBA Draft, LeBron James was open about the fact that he wanted to play with Bronny James in the NBA.
“With my son, obviously, it’s a dream come true for me,” James told reporters over the summer. “To see my son – to be able to be in the NBA alone, it’s always been a dream of his. For us to be side-by-side a lot of words [are] lost, to be honest.”

LeBron James reflected on Bronny’s journey and said it added to the special nature of him being drafted by the Lakers.
“The kid has worked so hard to get to this point,” James said. “There’s just so much that’s happened over the last year with him. To have this happen less than a year from his incident, to be with our friends and our family when they announced his name, it was something that was super surreal and our family still doesn’t even have enough words to explain the feeling that we have. Just such a great kid, and I’m looking forward to seeing his progression and him continuing to get better and better as he continues to grow as a young man.
“He’s 19 years old, so he has so much room for improvement. Looking forward to helping him improve, I know the coaching staff is helping him improve and everybody on the team. It’ll be fun.”
The Lakers advanced to the first round of the NBA playoffs last season, before falling to the Denver Nuggets in five games. Anthony Davis and LeBron James played well this summer for Team USA at the Olympics, and the hope is that Los Angeles can make a playoff run in 2024-25 as LeBron’s career winds down.
