Brooks Koepka addresses reported interest in PGA Tour return: 'We'll see what happens'

Brooks Koepka was honest when he addressed his reported interest in returning to the PGA Tour. Koepka, among other big named golfers, joined the LIV Tour in June of 2022.
The split between PGA and LIV Tour golfers was a hot topic a few years ago, but has since subsided due to ongoing talks of a possible merger. While virtually nothing has happened, some outlets allegedly reported Koepka would want to return to the PGA Tour once his LIV contract is up.
Koepka didn’t know where that came from, other than Fred Couples saying this was a possibility. So just like it’s news to us, the five-time major winner basically said he’d cross that bridge when he got there.
“Fred texted me after, I guess, the comments came out,” Koepka said. “I don’t know when it was, sometime last week. Yeah. I mean, everybody seems to have their own opinion. No one asked me. I mean, I talk to Fred quite a bit, but we don’t go too much into detail about what’s going on, like I’ve said it before. I’m not in those rooms.
“I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens. But I don’t know where I’m going, so I don’t know how everybody else does right now. I’m just focused on, how do I play better? How do I play better in the majors? How does this team win? And then we’ll figure out, you know, next year and how to play better again. It’s the same thing so, it’s just a revolving cycle but I’ve got nothing. Everybody else seems to know more than I do.”
Koepka, live other LIV Tour players, are not barred from the majors mostly featuring a field of PGA Tour players. He last won a major championship in 2023 (PGA Championship).

Other than his LIV events, all eyes will be on Koepka in April’s Masters Tournament. He’s finished tied for second twice (2019 and ‘23).
Tiger Woods was positive about where the sport of golf is heading while speaking on it at The Genesis Invitational last month.
“I think we’re in a very positive place right now,” Woods said. “We had a meeting with the president. Unfortunately, I had some other circumstances that, that came up. But Jay (Monahan), Adam (Scott) – they did great during the meeting. We have another subsequent meeting coming up so I think that things are going to heal quickly.
“We’re going to get this game going in the right direction. It’s been headed the wrong direction for a number of years.”
