Brother of Stefon, Trevon Diggs involved in brutal attack of man in elevator

Darez Diggs, brother of NFL players Stefon and Trevon Diggs, was one of the men involved in the attack of another man in an elevator in May, TMZ is reporting.

The story from TMZ includes video of the assault, which reveals the victim arriving via elevator in the lobby of an apartment complex on May 29 in Los Angeles.

When the man sees Diggs in the lobby upon the opening of the elevator doors, he attempts to retreat and close the elevator doors. Diggs, however, puts his arm through the closing doors, and while he holds the elevator doors open, two other men enter the compartment.

The other men then proceed to attack the man and drag him out of the elevator, taking what appears to be a purse from him. Diggs does not appear to get involved in the beating but he is involved in the conversations between the two parties.

After going through the purse that they took from the man and putting items in their pockets, the other two men again beat up the victim and take what appears to be a chain from around his neck. The video does not show how the two parties split ways, just the two men still standing in the lobby with the victim upright with his back to the elevator doors.

It is unclear what transpired between the victim and his assaulters but the issue appeared to center around the purse.

An LAPD spokesperson told TMZ that the police went to the scene of the crime but the suspects were not there when they arrived.

Police take report of robbery following incident with Darez Diggs, acquaintances

The LAPD revealed that there was a robbery reported. The complainant told them three men had stolen an orange purse containing diamonds and other jewelry during the incident.

Darez Diggs, two years younger than Stefon and three years older than Trevon, also played college football before moving on to the pro leagues.

He played for Morgan State before transferring to UAB. He played safety for one season for the XFL’s Los Angeles Wildcats in 2020.

TMZ attempted to contact Darez Diggs after obtaining the footage of the incident but received no response.
