Browns TE David Njoku listed as questionable after sustaining burn injuries
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he sustained burn injuries to his face and arm during a “household accident.”
Schefter did not provide any specifics regarding the incident that left Njoku with burns. It’s also unclear the severity of the injuries Njoku sustained. However, Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reported Njoku’s “burns occurred when he was lighting a firepit in his backyard.” She confirmed that he’s OK.
That’s an optimistic update from the tight end.
Njoku has played in all three games for Cleveland thus far, catching multiple passes in each contest. For the year, he’s responsible for 10 receptions for 92 yards.
Both Cleveland and Baltimore enter Sunday’s game owning 2-1 records. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS. It’s a pivotal game in the AFC North early in the season.
Deshaun Watson also questionable for Browns-Ravens
In addition to Njoku’s questionable status, quarterback Deshaun Watson is also listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Baltimore. A shoulder injury has put his status in jeopardy.
Watson was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, per the team’s website. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said he’s “hopeful” the quarterback can go for Cleveland.
Through three games this season, Watson has totaled 678 yards with four touchdown passes and two interceptions. He’s completing 63.7% of his passes and also has a rushing touchdown.

Watson is coming off his most productive game of the year, throwing for 289 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 27-3 victory over the Titans. He completed 27-of-33 passes in that game, helping get the Browns back above .500.
It seems that there’s at least some optimism surrounding both players for Sunday’s game. But if either can’t go, it will be a blow for Cleveland’s offense.
David Njoku in seventh year with Browns
