Bryce Young gets left hanging by young Panthers fan after signing his jersey
Even No. 1 draft picks can get left hanging when it comes to fist-bumps and high-fives. Bryce Young learned that lesson the hard way after autographing a jersey for one young Carolina Panthers fan.
One fan attending training camp got the awesome opportunity to receive an autograph from the Panthers’ No. 1 NFL Draft pick. But immediately after Young signed the jersey, the kid ran away.
Young tried to get a fist-bump before the kid raced off, but that didn’t happen. Instead, he was left hanging and had to give a fist-bump to himself.
Carolina’s social media team captured the hilarious interaction, posting it to Twitter:
Those are the kind of priceless interactions we love from NFL training camps. We’re sure the young fan was just super excited to show off his new autograph — or perhaps get one from another player.
But it just goes to show that even a star quarterback can get left hanging.
CJ Stroud reacts to Bryce Young being named starter
CJ Stroud and Young are both expected to elevate the level of play for their respective teams. That’s the kind of expectation that comes with being an early selection in the NFL Draft.

Stroud, selected by the Houston Texans, had some major praise for Young after earning the starting job with the Panthers. Although it was the expectation entering the season, it’s still a pretty awesome accomplishment.
“Yeah, that’s my brother, man. And I’m happy for him,” Stroud began. “But his situation is his situation and my situation is mine. So, I know I’ve gotta work on my end and do whatever I gotta do to make this team better. It’s not about starter, it’s who’s not the starter. It’s about getting better for we’re going against Baltimore. So, right now, we’re just building a team. It’s not about individuals.”
That’s a very mature answer from Stroud, who already seems to be handling the pressures of the NFL media quite well. Of course, playing at a high-profile program like Ohio State will prepare anyone for this type of environment.
Young and Stroud were among two of the best quarterbacks in college football during the 2022 season. Will success at that level translate to the NFL? That’s the big question both QBs have to answer as they prepare to enter their rookie seasons.
