Bryce Young has already proven a lot to professional teams about the prospect he is and the kind of quarterback he can be in the NFL. Even so, the former Alabama star is using his opportunity at the combine this weekend to prove a few other things on his resume.

During media on Friday morning, Young says he’s hoping to use his time with teams to explain his game. He knows who he is but, from there, he also wants to take advantage of the opportunity and learn as much as he can.

“I speak my truth,” Young said. “I make sure I explain how I play the game, how I see the game. My process, being able to get through things. Obviously there’s film and it’s just talking ball, X’s and O’s.”

“Coaches have asked how I’ve gone through plays and reads and all that. I’ve been around so many great football minds in these meetings,” said Young. “I’m wanting to pick their brains about how they run their offense to be able to learn from that. It’s a lot of back and forth and I’m super grateful for it.”

Again, there’s not much else to say about Young that hasn’t already been said. That tends to happen when you’re barely cracking six feet tall yet still manage to throw for 8,200 yards and 79 touchdowns on great efficiency over your last two seasons in college.

Young knows that everything about what he has done on the field speaks for itself. As this process moves forward, though, he wants these franchises to continue to know exactly who he is while he tries to soak in everything from this process along the way.

“I don’t really feel like my drive is to necessarily prove anything. For me, it’s to try to explain everything to all the coaches, the GMs, the decision-makers. To express myself, how I see the game, my experiences in the past. And then be able to learn as well and soak as much in from the process,” said Young. “Learning from the coaches, being able to talk to some of the players in the league now. For me, it’s a big learning experience. And I’m doing my best to explain how I’ve gotten here to try and find a great fit.”
