The folks at McDonald’s and 23XI Racing have really outdone themselves this time with a Bubba Wallace NASCAR paint scheme featuring Grimace. Everyone’s favorite giant, purple, food mascot is going to be coming to a race very soon.

Out of the blue, McDonald’s official Twitter/X account released three images. They featured three different cars with Grimace, Birdie, and the Hamburglar featured on each car. With all of the social media hype around Grimace and his birthday earlier this year, it was clear which car would be the favorite.

A poll went up to ask fans what their favorite car was, and Grimace with the purple flames ended up winning in a huge landslide. The purple shakes are gone, but the love for the McDonald’s mascot is not.

So, it turns out, this is real. Bubba Wallace is going to drive the Grimace car at Homestead-Miami later this season.

I mean, all three cars look great. However! You cannot look at the flames on that Grimace design and not feel like you’re looking at an old Hot Wheels car from your childhood. It looks like something you would get in a Happy Meal circa 2003, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Might need a little extra work on the rear fender to complete the look, but this is an awesome design that even Bubba Wallace is excited but.

It is safe to say that 23XI Racing is all-in on the new car design. Even Denny Hamlin got in on the excitement with his own short retort.

Bubba Wallace hopes to be in Playoffs at Homestead-Miami

By the time Homestead-Miami rolls around we will be in the Round of 8 and drivers will be fighting for those precious final four spots at Phoenix. When Bubba Wallace suits up for the race, he hopes to be in the playoff picture still.

However, it doesn’t look great. He’s 19 points behind the cutline right now and has a lot of work to do at Bristol. He might have to have his best performance ever at the half-mile track. So, Homestead-Miami is a long way away.

Regardless, this Grimace car is going to turn some heads and entertain a lot of people, at least. I am all for this design and paint scheme. I just want to know if they are going to make Bubba a firesuit to match. I’m also interested to see how much McDonald’s is invested in this whole thing, will Grimace make an appearance at the race?

If you’re not on social media a lot and you aren’t a “young” person, you might not get the whole Grimace thing. But trust me, it’s funny and it is what the people want right now.
