The crowd at Bowman Gray is unlike any other. Bubba Wallace is the kind of driver to give it back to a rowdy fan every once in a while. When it comes to NASCAR drivers, Wallace has some of the wittiest comebacks to unruly fans.

During practice, Bubba Wallace, and likely other drivers, received a flurry of cheers and jeers. Being Bowman Gray, they definitely received middle fingers. For Wallace, that is a typical site at the track as he is likely NASCAR’s most polarizing driver.

After seeing a photo of a fan giving him the bird, Wallace couldn’t help himself. He had to fire a retort back at the man in the stands.

“I’m gonna guess more fingers than teeth on that cat,” Wallace wrote on X/Twitter.

Bubba Wallace gets a lot of haters at the track. It is good that he can dish it out as well. After making it out of his Heat and into the Clash, Wallace felt like letting off a tweet. That’s fine, he should. But I hope he stays focused this season and doesn’t let the outside noise get to him too much.

Last season was statistically, Wallace’s best in the Cup Series. He had more top-5s and top-10s than any other season in his career. However, he did not have a win on the year. He also failed to make the playoffs.

On a track like Bowman Gray, I think Wallace can do well. He has had success at Martinsville and other flat tracks like it. There could be similarities between the two that help Wallace on Sunday.

Bubba Wallace advances out of Heat Race to Clash

Bubba Wallace went out in Heat Race 2. He was able to put his car into P4 and hold it there for the race. It was perhaps the most chill of the Heat races. We did see things get physical in the other 25-lappers.

Wallace will be joined by his 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick in the race tomorrow. This was a strong showing from both cars, with Reddick winning his race. Perhaps the most impressive performance was from Noah Gragson in the first race.

That first race tonight gave us everything. It was likely a preview of what is to come tomorrow night. Beating and banging. There were even a few moments of three-wide racing. Everything you could want from this event.

The fans at Bowman Gray are not going to go easy on these drivers. Bubba Wallace won’t go easy on them, either.
