Bubba Wallace explains 23XI Racing has 'process' to avoid 'bullshit' from employees

Bubba Wallace does not have to worry about people on his 23XI Racing team trying to sabotage him. While appearing on The Breakfast Club, Wallace was asked how he knows that certain people on his No. 23 team are not trying to sabotage him.
“We have a good process in knowing basically feeding out the bullshit,” Wallace said. “You have to show up and ready to work. You look at who the owners are, [Michael Jordan] and Denny [Hamlin]. They care about winning and they care about doing it with integrity. If you don’t have that, then it’s game over for them. We don’t have to worry about that, and I never really have.”
Bubba Wallace was asked that question because he has been outspoken about social issues over the last few years. It has led to him being criticized by fans, which is also something he talked about on the show.
Bubba Wallace has taken heat for his social and political views
“I love going to college football games, Tennessee and college basketball games. I’m not a person that boos other teams because I’m kind of in the sports world myself, and it just kind of seems childish,” Wallace said when talking about the aftermath of the Talladega noose incident in 2020. “But fans do what they want, so booing is a part of sports in general. The next week after Talladega was like, a light switch. It was like, whoa! Holy s***, I didn’t ask for this. Now they’re making noise.”

Despite the heat Wallace gets, he still continues to compete at a high level. He currently sits eighth in the NASCAR Cup points standings and would make the playoffs today. Wallace has yet to win a race and believes he needs to do that for NASCAR to grow.
“I need to win,” Wallace said. “There you go. I think that’s the easiest way to go about it. I need to win. Golf didn’t change too much, but Tiger [Woods] was dominant and created a lot of buzz. I’ve only had two wins in my eight years being in Cup. To me, that’s unacceptable.
“The way that we’ve been performing this year, last two races finishing third, two spots away from doing just that. I’ll take full responsibility in helping that.”
