Ahead of the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway, Bubba Wallace was feeling a little loose and was joking with the FS1 crew. Before the NASCAR drivers went to their cars, Wallace chatted it up with Clint Bowyer, Kenny Wallace and the gang. They talked about all the drama that has gone on in the last week or so and what the 23XI Racing driver thought about it.

This is just the second Cup Series race ever at the track. So, there is a ton of excitement. There is even more excitement for Bubba Wallace who is riding the best hot streak of his Cup Series career. Given his experience last year, being suspended for wrecking Kyle Larson at Las Vegas, he has some insight into the recent goings on in NASCAR.

Kenny Wallace, always a troublemaker, asked if Bubba would retaliate if he got into another incident this week. Well, he will, just not in the way that you think.

“I’ve learned my lesson for sure,” Bubba said, earning a huge laugh from the FS1 crew.

The driver said that his boss, the GOAT, always tells them the same thing. “MJ will text you right away, you go beat them on the race track that’s your retaliation.” For Wallace, finishing P4 last week was more than enough retaliation for Aric Almirola and the incident they had with one another last week.

So, don’t expect too much fire from Bubba Wallace this week. He’s just going to keep calm, cool, and collected…right? I’ll be honest and believe it when I see it.

Bubba Wallace riding a career-best streak

If you throw in the All-Star Race, Bubba Wallace has finished in the top-5 for four straight races. He has done it on a variety of tracks, too. If he keeps it up, then he will find himself with another big day and another solid finish. Last week, Wallace had to fight through pit road issues at almost every single pit stop.

Despite the struggle in the pits, Wallace drove his No. 23 Toyota Camry hard. He even passed his teammate toward the end of the race, Tyler Reddick, who had been one of the best three cars all day long.

The thing is, we haven’t seen Bubba Wallace on a streak like this before. So, who knows what he will do with this pressure and with all of the expectations? Of course, getting a win is the top concern for Wallace and his team. They would trade all of their top-5s for a trip to Victory Lane.

With another chance at a strong finish, will we see Wallace back it up again and end up in the top group by the end of this race?
