Bubba Wallace: NASCAR season is 'too long'

Bubba Wallace opened up about competing in a long NASCAR season. Before the 2025 Cup Series season began, Wallace appeared on Rubbin’ is Racing and talked about having just one month off before returning to work.
“The thing is really you only get the month of December off,” Bubba Wallace said on the show. “From the social side of things, that ramps up Week One. For me, it was Week One of January, and then leading up to the Clash now, you get one month off.
“I think we all are agreeing that it’s too long, but I don’t know if we’re ready to have the conversation of what it’s going to take to condense it the right way.”
Wallace is right as the NASCAR Cup Series season goes from February to November. During the season, the drivers get just one week off, and this year that comes during the week of April 20. Last year, NASCAR had two consecutive weeks off during the summer due to the Olympics.
Despite the NASCAR season being long, Bubba Wallace is ready to do big things in 2025. In January, the 31-year-old went to social media to share his expectations for the season.

Bubba Wallace is ready to have a huge 2025 season
“Last night of the off season. Pre season work starts tomorrow, kicking it off with a fun trip to see the [Columbia] fam!” Wallace wrote. “Excited for this season to get underway. Took it upon myself to be better and do better. Got my ass kicked the last 2 seasons, plain and simple.”
In another post, Wallace added, “No shame in saying that. Using it as motivation. I’ve been rocking the ‘just get by’ mentality for too long. Focused on my well being most importantly. Eating right, drinking right. Working out. Tired of looking like the grinch (can’t help the hair).”
“I love my wife, but she thinks it’s a fad and I’m gonna stop next week,” Wallace wrote in a follow-up post. “So excited to prove her wrong. In fact, I’ve been at it since the end of the season. The last 3 months have been the best ever. The mentals are at an all time high!! Couldn’t be happier!”
Wallace is having a strong start to the 2025 season. He won the duel at Daytona and earned a P9 finish at the Cup Series race at Atlanta.
