Report: Buccaneers OC Liam Coen interviewing for Jaguars head coaching job
As the Jacksonville Jaguars get set to hire a new head coach, they’re doing due diligence on a number of candidates. That number now includes Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen.
According to a report from FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager, Coen is interviewing with the Jaguars today.
The Jaguars have cast a wide net in their search for a new head coach after dumping Doug Pederson.
They’ve already interviewed Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, former New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh and Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
They’re also expected to interview Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
Quite the list.
Liam Coen, a former Kentucky offensive coordinator, has become a hot name on many coaching lists thanks to his success at the NFL level.

Coen first came into the national consciousness back in 2018, serving as an assistant receivers coach for the Los Angeles Rams. He’d eventually transition to work with quarterbacks in 2020, affording him the opportunity for an even bigger spotlight.
He did not disappoint.
However, Liam Coen returned to the college game in 2021 as the offensive coordinator at Kentucky. He jumped back to the Rams as offensive coordinator in 2022, then returned to Kentucky a year later as offensive coordinator again.
He then went back to the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the franchise’s offensive coordinator in 2024.
This season, Liam Coen helped guide the Bucs to a playoff berth and molded quarterback Baker Mayfield into one of the league’s best. Mayfield threw for career highs in yardage and touchdowns, posting 4,500 and 41, respectively. He also ran for a career-high 378 yards and three scores.
