Buffalo Bills fans throw snowballs at Steelers players during playoff matchup
The blizzard-like weather conditions in Buffalo forced the AFC Wild Card matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills to be moved from Sunday to Monday, with a snowstorm leaving 41.3 inches of snow in the area.
With help from fans, the field at Highmark Stadium was cleared off from the snowstorm allowing both teams to compete on Monday. But there was still plenty of snow in the stands for fans to navigate through.
Some of that leftover snow was used for the wrong reasons during Monday’s matchup, as one fan decided to throw a snowball at Steelers wide receiver George Pickens as he attempted to catch a pass in the end zone during the fourth quarter of the game.
Check out the close encounter below.
Thankfully the snowball missed Pickens on the play and no players were injured as a result. But footage was also captured of Pickens and teammate Diontae Johnson having snow balls thrown in their direction while on the sideline during the game.
Bills fans are notorious for their over-the-top antics, with a group of Buffalo fans even seen before Monday’s game jumping through a table that was lit on fire in the snow. But their throwing of snowballs during the game likely crossed the line in the eyes of many in the sports landscape.

Steelers, Bills fans wade through snow to find seating for Wild Card game
Buffalo Bills fans spent hours before their team’s home playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers by shoveling snow out of the stands in time for kickoff.
Those volunteers did everything they could to clear the stadium for their fellow fans using shovels, gloves, and even at times, their bodies.
