Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman continues to find the end zone during training camp as his connection with quarterback Josh Allen already looks like it’s in midseason form. Allen found Coleman in the back of the end zone on Sunday during a team period of Bills training camp at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, New York.

The Bills selected Coleman with the No. 33 overall pick in the second round of the most recent 2024 NFL Draft. He’ll now be looked upon to assume the role of WR1 for Buffalo after the team traded four-time Pro Bowl wideout Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans this offseason.

Early on, just four practices into training camp, Coleman looks like he can assume that role for the Bills’ offense this season after scoring multiple touchdowns already. Check out his latest from Sunday’s practice below.

Coleman was well known for his freaky athleticism during his college career and in the NFL Draft evaluation process. He played both football and basketball at Michigan State before transferring to Florida State ahead of the 2023 season. There, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound wideout caught 50 passes for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Seminoles.

Now for the Bills, Allen will look upon Coleman as a big-bodied target who specializes in playing with physicality and making contested catches in college. A skillset he’s seemed to translate already at practice as a potential perfect fit in Buffalo’s passing game.

“Obviously a big body, he moved well in some of the scramble drill stuff that we did,” Allen said following his first training camp practice with Coleman. “The refs called him out on one of the touchdown catches, but I was right there. We’ll see it on tape, I’m pretty sure he was in.”

Allen was referring to an impressive, toe-tap catch Coleman made in his first training camp practice on Wednesday. A play that he was ruled out of bounds on but was nonetheless impressive from the rookie who has been getting up to speed on the team’s offense pretty quickly.

“I’ve been studying, simple as that,” Coleman said regarding the playbook. “I pretty much know what’s going on so I’m confident that I’m gonna know what’s going on when I hear the calls, get the calls and I line up and do my job.”

Coleman has also become a fan favorite at a rapid rate thanks to his personality that’s been on display a lot more since being selected in the draft. He’s already looking like a star on and off the field before playing a single snap in a game for the Bills.
