The Buffalo Bills have selected Arkansas edge rusher Landon Jackson in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He was taken with the No. 72 overall pick in the draft.

Jackson, 22, transferred from LSU after the 2021 season and became a productive player for the Razorbacks. He suited up in 13 games in 2022, recording 23 total tackles and three sacks.

Jackson upped his production the following campaign. He made 44 total tackles and picked up 6.5 sacks, earning First Team All-SEC honors. Jackson tallied another 6.5 sacks with 49 tackles this past season, named Second Team All-SEC.

As a recruit, Jackson was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 158 overall recruit in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. Jackson checked in as the No. 14 edge in the class and No. 27 overall player from the state of Texas, hailing from Pleasant Grove (Texarkana, Texas).

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Landon Jackson

To most draft analysts, Jackson was seen as a Day 2 pick in this year’s class. NFL Network‘s Lance Zierlein wrote the following in evaluating Jackson:

“High-energy edge prospect with projectable traits but unorthodox movements and body control that might create a lack of conviction when it’s time to stamp a grade,” Zierlein wrote. “Jackson added muscle mass to his leggy frame, but a lack of bend hinders his anchor and contact balance against force. He’s long and urgent in fighting his way past the man in front of him.

“He’ll never be a natural edge bender but he plays with connected hands and feet that should allow him to develop more impactful rush counters. It will look gawky at times, but Jackson seems to be growing into his frame and possesses the traits and motor to make it as a future starter on the edge.”
