Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs had perhaps the celebration of the season in his squad’s Week 4 win against the Miami Dolphins. The former fifth-rounder snagged a touchdown and proceeded to celebrate with the fans at Highmark Stadium, grabbing beers from the crowd and smashing them together like professional wrestler “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The creative celebration didn’t come without a cost, however.

The league announced on Saturday that Diggs received a fine of $13,659 for unsportsmanlike conduct. He wasn’t alone in receiving a Week 4 fine.

Fellow Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver picked up a pair of $13,659 fines for unsportsmanlike conduct as well. Meanwhile, Buffalo defensive lineman DaQuan Jones also received a fine, this one a $16,391 fine for a rough hit on Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.

Diggs posted his fourth 100+ yard receiving game on Sunday in the Bills’ Week 5 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 121 yards and a touchdown on the day with eight receptions. He’s now up to 520 yards with five touchdowns through five games. Diggs is on pace to match or even exceed his 2022 totals of 108 receptions and 1,429 yards.

Von Miller returns for Bills

Bills veteran edge rusher Von Miller made his 2023 debut in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He had one tackle in the loss as he continues making his recovery from injury.

Miller, 34, was active for the first time since tearing his ACL last Thanksgiving in a game against the Detroit Lions. The three-time All-Pro practiced for the first time this week, opening the 21-day window in which the team could activate him off the physically unable to perform list (PUP).

Miller, who signed a six-year, $120 million deal with Buffalo last offseason, tied for the team lead with 8.0 sacks in 11 games last season. He chose to sign with the Bills following a decade-long tenure with the Denver Broncos, and a half-a-season stint with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. He helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller recorded 4.0 sacks in four playoff games. He has amassed 123.5 sacks in 161 games.

Although the Bills returned Miller, fellow edge rusher Gregory Rousseau was out against Jacksonville. He suffered a foot injury in the 48-20 Week 4 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo was also without star cornerback Tre’Davious White, who suffered a season-ending Achilles injury versus Miami.
