Butterbean Queen calls out Brent Crews after Phoenix: 'Only way they'd beat us was knock us out the way'

Following the physical overtime finish between Butterbean Queen and Brent Crews at Phoenix we may have a new ARCA rivalry. Crews won’t race full-time this season but he will be in the field plenty against Queen who will be racing for the season championship.
This race looked like it was as good as Butterbean Queen’s to win. He more or less dominated the second half of the race. His second win in a row was right in front of him. Then overtime happened. And then double overtime happened.
On the last turn on the last lap of the race, Crews put the door to Queen, diving to the inside. It was enough to move the 28-car and secure the 16-year-old his first ARCA Menards Series win.
Afterward, Butterbean was not very amused. He didn’t like how he was raced on that final lap.
“Honestly, I’m not – I don’t want to say nothing to get myself in trouble,” Butterbean Queen said to Josh Sims after the race. “Just frustrating, only way they’d beat us was knock us out of the way, you know. Honestly, I’m just gonna look at it as I got to do a better job on that restart. In my defense, I should never have let him get close enough. I gave him the bottom into [Turn] One to try to not get hit because he had such a run off of [Turn] Two because I cleared him. Almost wish I wouldn’t have cleared him, maybe and stayed door to door and I could have ran him up the hill or something.

“Just frustrating. … You know we’ll analyze this, and I’m not going to look at it as what he did. I’m gonna look at what I can do better because, you know, just don’t let him get close enough. Honestly, it sucks because it’s a one-lap shootout, so they’re going to be close to you. But super happy with this Pinnacle Racing Group. I mean, they knew we were here, and good points tonight, you know. I’m, you know, obviously, we’ll just get ready for the next one.”
Butterbean Queen drove a great race tonight. However, those overtime restarts can ruin a race for anyone. Credit to Brent Crews for staying in position to win. Overtime restarts in ARCA are even more cruel than in NASCAR.
While Crews got the win tonight, he will have to watch his bumper and door moving forward. Butterbean is a respectful racer, but the door opened. These two are the best short-track racers in ARCA, and we will see them go head-to-head again this season.
