Byron Murphy’s agent releases statement after concerning allegations emerge
The agent of Byron Murphy issued a statement Friday after the Seattle Seahawks rookie defensive tackle was accused by an OnlyFans model of owing her $15,000 over a night they allegedly spent together.
Ron Slavin, Murphy’s agent, said his client is a “victim of an extortion attempt from a text conversation that began and ended online.”
“Recently, my client Byron Murphy was the victim of an extortion attempt from a text conversation that began and ended online,” Slavin wrote. “He had no contact with this person. This blackmail scheme has targeted other young players in the league. We have notified the NFL, turned the matter over to the FBI. Anyone involved in this scheme will be prosecuted.”
Several explicit messages emerged online this week showing the alleged exchange between Murphy and the woman. The woman’s posts have since been deleted on X.

The Seahawks selected Murphy, 21, with the 16th pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Texas. Murphy enters the NFL following a standout career in Austin, named Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and earning First-Team All-Big 12 honors in 2023.
Murphy played in all 14 games in 2023. He tallied 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and seven quarterback hurries. Also a threat on offense, Murphy scored two offensive touchdowns. Murphy became the first Texas offensive or defensive lineman to have multiple touchdowns. In his career, Murphy played in 39 games (16 starts) and registered 70 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
“My dog mentality, it comes from having doubters,” Murphy said in May. “I’ve been doubted all my life. I feel like that’s what started the dog mentality. My mentality when I’m out there on the field is to kill. I don’t care who’s in front of me or what they say about you. I believe you have to show yourself. Also, part of my mindset is you won’t stop me. You have to show me that you can stop me. Even if you know what I’m doing on this play, you still have to show me because I’m coming. And I’m coming hard every play.”
