Calais Campbell describes getting detained by police while trying to deescalate Tyreek Hill incident
Calais Campbell was detained by police ahead of the Miami Dolphins season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The veteran defensive lineman shared the news with NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe and said he was trying to de-escalate the Tyreek Hill matter. Campbell added that he never had anything like that happen to him in his 17-year NFL career or life.
Hill was detained by police on Sunday morning due to a driving citation. It was reported that Hill was cited for reckless driving after being pulled over for speeding. Hill and police had a verbal altercation before the star wide receiver was placed in handcuffs. Campbell and Hill were eventually released and helped the Dolphins earn a 20-17 victory over the Jaguars.
“Everybody has bad apples in every situation, so I want to be able to use this platform to figure out a way to like flip this and make it a positive on both ends,” Tyreek Hill said after the game. “On my end and also Miami-Dade, so that way we can continue together and do something positive for the community, because that’s what it’s all about, man. You guys are here to protect us as individuals, and I have a platform and I want to be able to team up with you guys. That’s all I’ve got to say.”

Because I know at the end of the day I still have a job to do. If he come in, he drop three passes, is he still thinking about the little scenario?
