Caleb Williams reveals his GOAT football player

The GOAT debate in the NFL seems to come down to Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes in recent years. However, for presumed first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft Caleb Williams, neither is the GOAT.
Williams revealed that, while he appreciates Brady and his accomplishments, his personal GOAT is actually Aaron Rodgers.
“Football, winning and things like that mentality, Tom Brady” Caleb Williams said. “My football GOAT is Aaron Rodgers.”
Aaron Rodgers is certainly a great quarterback, winning a Super Bowl and four MVPs with the Green Bay Packers. He also did that from the time that Caleb Williams was in elementary school through being in college, so he clearly grew up watching Rodgers.
Interestingly, while Williams has drawn comparisons in terms of his style of play to Mahomes, Williams himself says he models his game on Rodgers.
“I try to model my game after a bunch of guys, but Aaron Rodgers I would say is number one,” Williams said before confirming that Rodgers is, in fact, his favorite player of all time, though Tom Brady again comes in second.
If Caleb Williams can have the kind of career that Aaron Rodgers has had, then he’ll make whoever drafts him incredibly happy. Of course, that’s a high bar to clear with Rodgers likely heading to the Hall of Fame when his career is all said and done. As of now, Rodgers has completed 65.3 percent of passes for 59,055 career passing yards and 475 career touchdowns. That’s ninth all-time in passing yards and fifth all-time in touchdowns.

For his own part, Williams ended his college career completing 66.9 percent of his passes for 10,082 yards and 93 touchdowns. During his three college seasons, he also won a Heisman Trophy.
Caleb Williams shares his impressions of where the Chicago Bears stand
The Chicago Bears control the NFL Draft with the top pick. Many think they will choose to draft Caleb Williams, and he recently shared where he thinks the Bears currently stand as an organization.
“The Bears were 7-10 last year, and that’s pretty good for a team that has the first pick,” Williams said. “And they’ve got a good defense, they got good players on offense, and it’s pretty exciting if you can go into a situation like that.”
Caleb Williams also noted that it’s important for him to become his own player, rather than comparing himself to former players.
“Not at all, I don’t compare myself to other guys that’s there or have been there,” Williams said. “I think I’m my own player and I tend to like to create history and rewrite history.”
