Cam Newton destroys fan trolling him over Super Bowl rings
Cam Newton, the former Carolina quarterback, was relaxing at a football camp this weekend. The ex Panthers star was in New Orleans, hanging out with Donald De La Haye, the YouTube star and former college kicker.
And when fans gather, the hecklers come out. Cam Newton was an easy target. The fans at the camp likely were of the Who Dat Saints variety. Newton played for the Panthers, a fellow member of the NFC South Division. And there probably aren’t a ton of Carolina fans in the Big Easy. Plus, the LSU fans in attendance probably didn’t cheer for Newton when he was winning a Heisman and a national title at Auburn.
Newton finally trotted over to confront the kids lining the fence. One fan asked Newton “How many rings you got?”
Newton snapped back “None!”
“So we got the same amount,” the fan said. “But we don’t got the same bank account.” Then Newton yells a long “OOOOOOOO” as he makes a gesture toward his crotch. One fan tells him, “You’re too famous to be acting like that.”
Newton quips “No, no, don’t play the victim now.”
Cam Newton’s Super Bowl memories aren’t good ones
Maybe Cam Newton still is sensitive about Super Bowl 50. After all, Newton earned NFL MVP honors leading into the Super Bowl. His Panthers earned a 15-1 record in the regular season. And Carolina earned a spot in the Super Bowl with a 34-point stomping of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC title game.

But the Panthers didn’t look like the same team against the Denver Broncos. What’s that adage about defenses winning championships? Well, the defensive-minded Broncos limited the Panthers to only 10 points. An aging Peyton Manning had just enough left in him to lead Denver to the 24-10 victory.
Getting back to the football camp, most fans did welcome Newton. The NFL social media account shared a video with the caption “Cam Newton pulled up to (the camp) in New Orleans and everyone went CRAZY.”
Cam Newton hasn’t played in the league since he rejoined Carolina in 2021 after spending a year apart with the Patriots.
He threw at Auburn’s pro day back in March, but received no takers. He also indicated he was making an appearance in hopes his younger brother, Caylin Newton, would receive some attention from scouts.
